The Masters Online Qualifier workouts will be released today (Thursday, April 21, 2016) at 5 p.m. PT. Masters athletes will have until Monday, April 25, 2016, at 5 p.m. PT, to submit their scores and/or videos for these four workouts.
The Masters Online Qualifier is the second stage of the CrossFit Games season for athletes 40 years old and older. These athletes have already competed in the Open (February 25 – March 28), and earned a top-200 finish worldwide in their age division. All Masters athletes who finished in the top-200 worldwide are automatically entered to compete this weekend.
The workouts will be released here.
Please note that Masters athletes submitting scores must use a registered judge for each workout and have their performance validated by a validly licensed CrossFit affiliate in good standing. In addition, all four workouts must be videotaped. The top 40 Masters athletes will be asked to submit one to four of these videos for review (April 26, 2016). Alternatively, Masters athletes may elect to submit videos of the four workouts online for judging and validation. All videos submitted for review must adhere to standard Open video submission guidelines.
Masters athletes will have five scores tabulated in order to determine their final rank in the Online Qualifier: four scores from the Online Qualifier workouts and one score based on their finish in the Open. If an athlete is unable to complete a Qualifier workout, they will not receive a score for that workout and they will be ranked below every other athlete who completed the four workouts.
Only after the video review process is complete will the Masters Leaderboard be set. The top 20 male and female athletes in each age division will be invited to compete at the Games starting on May 5, 2016. If Masters athletes ranked in the top 20 in any age division decline their invitation to the Games, the next highest-ranked athlete in that division may be invited. The Games invitation process for Masters athletes will be completed by June 4, 2016.
