South Leaderboard Adjustment

The list of qualifying women from the South Regional has been adjusted. Following the final heat, Michaela North filed an appeal for a judgment call made during Event 7. She was issued a no-rep for clinching the rope with her legs prior to completing her final rope climb. Initially, the appeal was granted and her placement was adjusted to 5th place overall in the event, resulting in a 3rd place finish overall.

Following the awards presentation, additional review showed that she did not have a right to appeal the ruling on the floor. From the CrossFit Games Rulebook: “Judgment calls made during an event are final and are not negotiable or subject to change, modification or appeal.” As part of the further review, her call was also reviewed by video and confirmed to be a clear no-rep.

“Athletes know that judgment calls are part of the game. It’s in the Rulebook and repeated on-site during their briefings. In this case, our on-site team incorrectly handled the appeal process and made an error in adjusting the leaderboard,” said Justin Bergh, the General Manager of the CrossFit Games. “This is an unfortunate way to end a great competition, but it is unquestionably the right call at the end of the day.”

The leaderboard has been adjusted and the qualifying women are:

1. Camille Leblanc-Bazinet
2. Whitney Cappellucci
3. Alexis Johnson
4. Tennil Reed
5. Candice Wagner
