Games Athletes Team Up for the CrossFit Team Series

The CrossFit Team Series, presented by Compex, starts just after Labor Day. Two-man, two-woman teams are registering now at Games.CrossFit.com/TeamSeries/#/.

Since the Team Series allows for super teams, with athletes from multiple CrossFit affiliates, some of the world’s best athletes have teamed up.

Rich Froning, Katrin Davidsdottir, Annie Thorisdottir and Josh Bridges | Team Rogue Black.

Brooke Wells, Alex Anderson, Jacob Anderson, and Lindy Barber | Team Brooke and Friends.

Ben Smith, Scott Panchik, Stacie Tovar, and Emily Bridgers | Team Reebok United.

Camille Leblanc-Bazinet, Margaux Alvarex, Dan Bailey, Graham Holmberg | Team Rogue Red.

You too can join in the action. All you need to do is grab three friends, and register your team. The series will be held September 6 – 12, and October 4 – 10.

Upcoming CrossFit Competitions

The CrossFit Games season ended in July, and won’t restart until 2017, but those looking to compete have plenty to look forward to in September, October, and November.

CrossFit Team Series: September 6 – October 10

Grab three teammates and join in the CrossFit Team Series, presented by Compex. Registration begins Tuesday, August 16, at Games.CrossFit.com.

The Team Series puts two-man, two-woman teams through team workouts.

The first batch of workouts will be released September 6. Teams will have until September 12 (six days) to complete the workouts together and submit their scores.

The second batch of workouts will be released October 4. Scores will be due six days later on October 10.

The top 15 overall (Open Division, Rx’d) will receive a chunk of the $151,000 prize purse.

The Team Series is designed to be inclusive, with two versions of each workout (Rx’d and Scaled) offered so to accommodate varying abilities and extra divisions for masters-aged athletes (40+) and teenagers (14-17).

CrossFit Liftoff: November 3 – 7

Show off your snatch and clean and jerk in the CrossFit Liftoff, powered by Rogue.

In addition to setting your 1-rep-max in each lift, you’ll submit a score on a workout that will test your fitness.

Team Series Prizes Reach Top 15

The 2016 CrossFit Team Series, presented by Compex, allows for the creation of four-person super teams. Any two men and two women can come together to compete in the series (September 6 – 12, October 4 – 10).

This year, five more teams will claim a part of the $151,000 prize purse. We have expanded the number of winners from the top 10 to the top 15 overall (Open Division, Rx’d).

The 2015 Reebok CrossFit Games have been nominated by the readers of SportsTravel for two SportsTravel awards, including the Best Professional Multi-Discipline / Multi-Sport Event and Best Sports Event of the Year.

Now that we’ve been nominated, our final placing is up to Games fans like you. Make your voice heard by casting your vote before August 15, 2016, at 5 p.m. PT.

Since its inception in 1997, SportsTravel magazine has served the sports-related event industry, recognizing those who organize and manage sporting events. CrossFit has been nominated every year since 2012, and won in 2013.

The ninth annual CrossFit Games are in the running with the 2016 Winter X Games, 2016 NBA Finals, U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials and many more major sporting events.

Like few other sports, the CrossFit Games are supported by a global community. Seven hundred fifty CrossFit enthusiasts from around the globe traveled to Carson, California, to volunteer their time. Volunteers moved barbells, stacked weights, built Rogue rigs and performed countless other tasks to ensure the competition ran smoothly.

The 2015 Reebok CrossFit Games featured hundreds of athletes, multiple venues, never-before-seen equipment (paddleboards, hurdles, 203 / 124 lb. kettlebells, pegboards), never-before-performed events, and all of it spanned multiple days with live webcasts, broadcasts and real-time reporting in print and on social media platforms.

The documentary “Fittest on Earth” tells the story of the 2015 Reebok CrossFit Games, a test so challenging and compelling that the documentary has gained popularity on Netflix and become #1 on iTunes.

It’s an honor for our young sport to be nominated for these awards for the fourth consecutive year. With the X Games and other longstanding sports in the same division, it will take the support of our community to push us to the top.

Saturday Night Event: 100%

Heading into Saturday, the individual competitors knew they would face Climbing Snail in the Soccer Stadium in the mid-afternoon and two events in the Tennis Stadium later that evening.

After Climbing Snail, Dave Castro released the first Saturday night event: The Separator. After The Separator, Castro released the second Saturday night event: 100%. At this year’s Games, the athletes have routinely been kept in the dark about the events until the last possible moment.
